S2 Engineering offers a range of distillation columns designed to meet various process needs. Our columns are available in both batch and continuous configurations, detailed below:

Batch Distillation Column:

  • Operation: The column is fed in batch mode, where each batch of feed is processed sequentially. Once the column is charged with a batch, the distillation process begins, and after one batch is completed, the next feed is introduced.

Continuous Distillation Column:

  • Operation: Continuous columns process a continuous feed stream without interruptions, except in the event of a surrounding process issue. This type is ideal for high-throughput applications and is the most commonly used type of distillation column.

Design Options for S2 Stainless Steel and Exotic Alloy Distillation Columns:

  • Staircase and Operator Platform/Gantry: Provided for ease of access and operation, particularly for larger vessels.
  • Jacketed Design: Includes heating/cooling jackets for managing the temperature of receiver contents while in storage.
  • Thermal Control Units: Self-contained systems for supplying heating and cooling fluids to the receiver jacket where plant services are unavailable. Ideal for remote storage units, sheds, or warehouses.
